The concept of BAGOU is based on a board game created in 1998 by Daniel Jasmin. Former high school teacher, he first created this game to help his students improve their French vocabulary. More than 100 000 copies of the board game have been sold.
The game concept is simple: find the missing words to complete sentences and expressions. Each sentence had been revised by a committee of PhD in Linguistics.
Unfortunately this board game is not anymore available in stores. However, Mesoplanet Productions decided to revive it by creating an app for smartphones and tablets.
The game’s objective is to complete the number of cards selected at the beginning.
Depending on his knowledge of French, the player must choose a difficulty level.
This game is an excellent tool for my work. I have helped many young people to enrich their vocabulary through Bagou. I am very pleased to learn that it has created an electronic version. I will recommend it to all my clients.Michele Vande WieleSpeech therapist
French is my third language, and even if I live in Quebec for a few years now, I sometimes have the feeling not to find the PERFECT word. Playing BAGOU helped me a lot with that. I finally feel like my French vocabulary is at its best.Veronica Pizzi
Finally an app that worths the time investment ! Having a really busy schedule, I’ve always thought of mobile games as a waste of time… until I tried BAGOU, which helps me to enhance my French vocabulary so conveniently.Melissa TardifTeacher
